These units are designed for some food cooling industries where cooling water is needed under +4°C. A serpentine evaporator running in a tank with an axial mixer is designed to avoid ice foundation on the copper pipes down to +1°C water temperature. The most important reason to prefer this unit is the ability to achieve very low temperatures without antifreeze usage. The icing on the evaporator does not pose any problem for the system.
